Some commonly ordered lab tests for hormone replacement and weight loss. This list is not all inclusive and these are just some examples of cash pay lab pricing. These labs are drawn at a QUEST DIAGNOSTIC LAB or CPL, not at Pretty Heart Medspa. An order is sent in directly to Quest or CPL and you go on your own time to have them drawn. We received results in about a week. There is a lab consult fee for the discussion of your condition, what labs to be ordered, and one follow up to discuss result
Unsure where to start but just not feeling ‘right’? Want to make sure you do not have any underlying issues prior to starting a weight loss journey? Need labs to start testosterone replacement? This visit is for discussion of symptoms, ordering of labs, and includes one follow up to review the labs. If you are using the cash pay option this fee does not include labs. If you are using insurance, please know, we do not inquire about coverage for labs insurance will or wont cover.
A Complete Blood Count without Differential (CBC w/o Diff) test is a laboratory test that provides important information about the cellular components of the blood. It measures various blood cell counts and indices to assess overall blood health.
The Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) test is a widely used blood test that provides valuable insights into a patient's overall health and helps evaluate the function of various organs and systems in the body. It measures a comprehensive set of chemical substances in the blood, including electrolytes, kidney and liver function markers, glucose, and protein levels. The CMP test offers a comprehensive overview of the body's metabolic state and aids in diagnosing and monitoring various conditions
This panel includes Testosterone; free & total, PSA; total, and a CBC.
The PSA test is used to screen for and monitor prostate cancer as a tumor marker. It can also fluctuate with prostate infections, prostate trauma (falls, chronic biker/motorcycle rider) and with testosterone use, so monitoring is important.
SHBG is a liver-produced protein that strongly binds to the hormones testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, and estradiol. SHBG distributes these hormones in the blood as physiologically inactive versions when they are bound. This test examines the amount of SHBG in the blood and is most commonly used to determine whether a person has too much or too little testosterone.
The Estrogen Total test measures the overall level of estrogen in the blood. Estrogen is a group of hormones primarily produced by the ovaries in females and to a lesser extent by the testes in males. Estrogen plays a crucial role in the development and functioning of the reproductive system, as well as other physiological processes in both genders. It’s important to monitor estrogen levels in men as well while on testosterone as estrogen can rise and cause symptoms such as gynecomastia.
Progesterone is a steroid hormone that aids a woman's body in preparing for pregnancy. It interacts with a number of other female hormones. The level of progesterone in the blood is measured with this test. Progesterone is also known as ‘nature’s benzo’ for its calming effects.
Testosterone is primarily produced in the male testicles by unique endocrine tissue called Leydig cells. It's also made by the adrenal glands in both males and females, as well as the ovaries in females in modest amounts.
The Free T3, Free T4 & TSH panel is a specialized group of tests aimed at evaluating thyroid function and assessing the overall health of the thyroid gland. The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located in the neck, and it plays a crucial role in the endocrine system, influencing the metabolism, growth, and development of the body. The tests in this panel measure levels of hormones produced by the thyroid and pituitary glands to offer a comprehensive picture of thyroid function.
The Thyroid Peroxidase and Thyroglobulin Antibodies test measures the levels of antibodies against thyroid peroxidase (TPO) and thyroglobulin in the blood. These antibodies are associated with autoimmune thyroid diseases.
FSH and LH are hormones linked to production and the development of eggs and sperm in both men and women. FSH and LH is measured in the blood. The pituitary gland produces FSH and LH. The hypothalamus in the brain, the pituitary gland, and hormones generated by the ovaries or testicles all work together to control FSH and LH production. The hypothalamus secretes gonadotropin-releasing hormone, which causes the pituitary to secrete FSH and luteinizing hormone.
*Almost any lab test can be ran, this is a list of the most popular for the services offered at Pretty Heart. Please call or text the spa to inquire about additional testing. These are cash pay labs. We cannot and do not bill insurance. We reserve the right to not order a lab test outside of our specialty. Clients will have their labs drawn at a Quest Diagnostic Lab of their choice.
